We are only a week away the start of fall sports (cheer, cross country, football, golf (girls), soccer (boys), swim & dive (girls) tennis (boys), and volleyball). Please find practice and contact information for the first week below. Also please mark your calendars for August 11th at 7:00 PM for our fall sports parent meeting. All parents of fall sports student-athletes should attend. We will meet in the auditorium to discuss larger athletic department items and then break off by sport for your parent meeting. Additionally, please remember that physicals are due before the first day of tryouts on August 8th. Physical forms can be uploaded by parents directly to Final Forms or drop them off in the office. Traverse City Central High School is excited to announce Emily Wilbert as our new Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach. Emily is a Central High School graduate where she played on the varsity volleyball team for four years. In addition to volleyball, she also played basketball and tennis for the Trojans. After graduating, Emily went to Alma College where she played volleyball and tennis for the Scots. Coach Wilbert coached volleyball for Traverse City Area Public Schools for seven years - three as the Central JV coach and 4 as the West JV coach. Additionally, she has served as a mentor for the Traverse City Central girls and boys tennis teams for several years. Traverse City Central is excited to introduce Casey Christensen as our new Varsity Boys Tennis Coach. Coach Christensen comes to Central from Muskegon Catholic Central where he has served as the Athletic Director and Varsity Girls Tennis Coach for the past six years. He has also coached at West Chicago High School (IL), St. Patrick High School (IL), and Palatine High School (IL). The hiring committee was extremely impressed by his vision for the boys tennis program, his ability to develop meaningful relationships with kids, and his cutting edge knowledge of tennis. "Tennis is the ultimate competitor's sport," says Christensen. "I love the mental aspect of the game and thinking my way through a match. Traverse City Central High School is excited to welcome Bryant Wilson as the new boys track coach. Wilson previously spent eight years with track and field at Central Michigan University, having served as the women's track and field associate head coach since 2019. In 2019, he was named the Mid-American Conference Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year at both the league indoor and outdoor championships. That same year, Wilson helped lead the Chippewa women to victory at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships in February and a second-place finish in May at the league outdoor championships. He was also inducted into the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2018. Wilson, a Hale native, was a four-time NCAA Division II National Champion and two-time U.S. National Championships qualifier in the pole vault at Grand Valley State, where he swept the indoor and outdoor pole vault national titles in 2007

Traverse City Central High School is excited to introduce Coach Lisa Seymour as the new girls varsity tennis coach. Seymour has coached tennis at the high school level for the last 14 years, including 11 years as the junior varsity tennis coach at TCC and the last 3 years at Traverse City West Senior High School as their varsity tennis coach. She has been a certified tennis pro and the Director of 10 & under tennis at the Grand Traverse Resort for over 10 years, as well as the Director of Tennis Operations at the resort for 5 years. The Trojan community looks forward to having Seymour back. Please join us in welcoming Lisa back to TCC and wishing her luck as the Trojan's newest varsity coach!

Varsity football defeated Caledonia 42-14 to earn a Regional Championship and a spot in the Division 2 semifinal. The Trojans earned back-to-back Regional titles for the first time in school history. Next up is South Lyon in the Division 2 semifinals with a sport in the State Championship on the line. The game will be played at Greenville High School on Saturday (11/20) at 1:00 PM. Boys Varsity WrestlingThe Trojan Grappler started the season tonight with a strong showing against area teams Traverse City St. Francis and Kingsley. the Trojans opened the night with a win against St. Francis 40-24. Winning matches for the Trojans were Brennan Villagomez, James Wade, Brady Slocum, Dutch Ballan, Jesus Montelongo, Justice Rector, and John Lalonde. In the marque match-up of the night Trojan senior Captian Ethan Ramsey ranked #12 in the state by MIGrappler took on returning State Champion Gavin Wilmouth at 189lbs. In a very tight and well wrestled match the Trojan fell to the Gladiator 4-2. In the second dual of the evening the Trojans took on Division 3 State ranked #7 the Kingsley Stags.
